Therapy Scholarships

Recognizing that many children with special needs rarely have the opportunity to participate in sports programs, the Faith and Family Foundation sought to change that. In 1999, the Foundation began to offer scholarships for children with disabilities, to participate in therapeutic riding, adaptive swimming and a variety of other programs selected by their parents and recommended by their therapists.

Very often, the wonderful benefits of therapeutic riding, adaptive aquatics and adaptive sport programs are cost prohibitive for families already struggling to afford medical bills and physical and other therapies. By offering scholarships for these programs, the foundation hopes that as many children with special needs as possible, can enjoy a sports and recreation program best suited to their needs and to their family life.

The Foundation works with a number of therapeutic riding programs in the Northern Virginia area, but also encourages parents to find quality therapeutic programs geographically close to their homes.
